Website Captures Love of Pittsburgh Neighborhoods in Letters and Words
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – November 2009 – Local entrepreneur and photographer Tripp Clarke launches wordaroundpittsburgh.com, giving people a unique way to capture the beauty of our surrounding neighborhoods as well as offer a creative gift opportunity for the Pittsburgh-lover in all of us.
"I had seen photographs of objects that looked like letters of the alphabet, so I decided to localize the idea and take photographs of iconic items within neighborhoods to actually spell the names of the neighborhoods," Clarke explained. Adding, "Residents of Pittsburgh truly have a love affair with our city. I wanted to capture some of the beautiful images within the neighborhoods to allow that bond to exist through art."
Currently there are two neighborhoods featured in the growing series, Aspinwall and Sewickley, with more neighborhoods in the works... including a PITTSBURGH print to be rolled out in 2010. When asked why the collection was kicked-off with Sewickley and Aspinwall, Clarke responded, "I grew-up in one town and live in the other, and I love both."
“People are always looking for creative decorating and gift ideas. What is special about wordaroundpittsburgh is that we are combining art and a love of Pittsburgh with the touch of creating something truly personal,” according to Clarke.
Visit wordaroundpittsburgh.com to see their collection of photographs. Customers can order the prints either framed or unframed.
